Two effective removal approaches are available—one uses all-natural ingredients and is gentle on skin. Instructions for each option follow below.
Method # 1 - Nail Polish Remover Application
Gather these supplies:
- Polish remover
- Lint-free pads / paper towel
- Cuticle stick (handy optional tool!)
The Steps
- Dampen a small cotton piece thoroughly with nail polish remover
- Apply it against each nail (treating one hand at a time works best)
- Allow the remover several minutes to penetrate the wrap (patience pays off—typically 3-5 minutes and it glides right off!)
- Press the cotton pad downward from cuticle to tip, and your wrap should release completely in one smooth motion without friction or nail bed trauma. Should any part resist, use your cuticle pusher to gently lift it away (always work outward from the nail bed to avoid accidental scratching if your hand shifts)
Helpful Hint: nail polish remover can strip moisture from nails—follow this method with hand moisturizer to restore hydration.
Method # 2 - Warm Water with Lemon Juice or Coconut Oil
You’ll need:
- Heated water combined with fresh lemon or gently warmed (never boiling!) coconut oil
- A compact container
- Nail bed stick
Instructions:
- Pour warm water mixed with lemon or warm coconut oil into a shallow bowl
- Immerse your nails in the solution for several minutes
- As the adhesion between your nail and the wraps begins to weaken, gently use your cuticle pusher to lift the wrap from the nail's edge.
- The wrap should peel away without difficulty. If any residue remains on your nail, wipe it clean with a tissue.
- Your hands will feel wonderfully soft and nourished, prepared for applying your next set of wraps!
